McNerney to host drought forum

STOCKTON — Rep. Jerry McNerney will host a California Drought Solutions Forum in Stockton on Aug. 25.

The forum will feature experts and voices that include farmers, water technology innovators, policy makers, federal and state government and local universities, his office said.

The forum will consist of two panels:

10 a.m. – 11 a.m.: Water, Energy, and Technology: Partnerships and Solutions Panel

Invited panelists include: GE; California Energy Commission, Water Energy Technology Program; U.S. Department of Energy, Water Energy Technology Team; ACWA; and IBM.

11 a.m.  Noon:  Agriculture, Technology, and Water Sustainability Panel

If you were outside today, you may have noticed a giant ring around the sun. That ring is actually the reflection of ice crystals from high cirrus clouds, according to EarthSky.org

The ring was seen all over the area by News10 viewers, including Roseville and Stockton. Did you get a chance to see it?
