Stockton Beer Week is back for the 3rd year and bigger than ever!

All this week through Sunday, August 31st, Stockton area bars, pubs, and restaurants will be flowing over with beer-related events for Stockton Beer Week! Events revolving around craft beers will range from tastings and food pairings, to tap take-overs, and beer specials. There is also an exclusive beer festival, a beer BBQ, beer tasting and movie nights, live music events, and much more! A first for Stockton Beer Week – Dust Bowl Brewing out of Turlock, CA has created a limited release red ale called Stockton Session just for this event! Stockton Session will be available exclusively at The Abbey Trappist Pub, Centrale Kitchen & Bar, Empresso Coffeehouse, Lincoln Cellar, and Mile Wine Company during Stockton Beer Week.

2014 Weekly Challenge #29: A Salad A Day

Summer is the perfect time for salads. The veggies and fruit are so tasty and fresh, and it is usually just too darn hot to heat up the kitchen.

2014 Weekly Challenge #26: Eat LOCAL!

You hear it all the time: Eat Local! But why?

Here are 8 reasons to eat local foods (taken from about.com):

1. Local Foods Are Fresher (and Taste Better)

Food that was picked within the last few days tastes way better than food that was picked (unripened) and trucked thousands of miles to get to you. And fresh food lasts longer, too.

2. Local Foods Are Seasonal (and Taste Better)

Isleton Cajun & Blues Festival Moves To Delta Loop

Isleton Cajun & Blues Festival Moves To Delta Loop

The Isleton Cajun & Blues Festival has moved to a new location for the 2014 event. Still in Isleton, technically, but not in the city limits anymore. They have moved to the Delta Loop which is just a few minutes away. The event location is at the B&W Resort Marina and Boat storage. The Isleton Chamber of Commerce resurrected the festival in 2011 after the "Isleton Crawdad Festival" was disbanded along with the old Chamber that promoted it for years.

The business owners and residents of the delta loop have welcomed the festival with open arms and the "entire atmosphere and positive attitude is making a world of difference" said Jean Yakatobi, event foreperson.  With the marinas and docking availability the Loop is opening a whole new avenue for boaters and yachts to come from the bay area which will enhance the "family friendly"  direction the Chamber has achieved.
